Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HOCAT)
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy at The HVN takes place in our spacious lie-down mono-chamber, which is fitted with large viewing windows and a phone so you can see and communicate with your designated practitioner for the entirety of your 60-minute treatment.
The treatment works by forcing more oxygen through the plasma in your bloodstream, carrying oxygen to your vital organs, and encouraging new cell turnover. Benefits include boosting metabolism, energy levels and the body’s natural healing processes.
Whether you’re embarking on a course of treatment to aid recovery and healing post surgery, improve energy levels in line with seasonal or time zone changes, encourage relaxation to ease insomnia, or boost your overall wellbeing, benefits can be felt from the very first session.
To achieve optimum results, sessions are recommended between three and five times per week, although your practitioner can give you a personalised recommendation following your initial consultation; they can also cover any contraindications or questions you may have.
30-minute sample sessions are available upon request for those who’d like to sample the experience before purchasing a course. 60-minute sessions are included in some of our programmes.
Cautions and care
This treatment is not recommended during pregnancy.
For safety and relaxation purposes, we ask you to leave your phone, headphones and other electronic devices outside of the chamber while the treatment takes place. Instead, you’re invited to bring a book into the chamber and use the treatment time to switch off from the outside world and relax or sleep.
Oxygen is delivered through a mask that is placed over the face during your treatment. It can also be delivered through a cannula in the nose if preferred.
